Welcome to the
Moorpark College Fitness Center. The staff looks forward to your
participation in our program.
Our objectives are to:
- provide each student with quality instruction and supervision in a personalized exercise program.
- provide updated materials and activities related to health/fitness issues.
PE M02A is an activity course designed to develop positive habits in regard to cardiovascular efficiency, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. The class allows individual scheduling of required lab hours. This course applies to the Associate Degree. Transfer credit: CSU:UC*
Prerequisite: None
Students must complete the Orientation
during the first week of class and
Pretesting
during the second week of class. (Orientations and Pretesting occur on the
college hours: 7am, 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm, 5:30pm and 7pm.
Saturday hours are 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm and 2:30pm. Once the Orientation is completed, students may use the
Fitness Center during any scheduled time it is open to complete course
work.. Students failing to attend the first two weeks are subject to being
dropped. The sections are listed below.

CRN 30203 and CRN 31558 are Late-start classes. Students need to contact
D. Parker or S. Ruter for Orientation and Pretesting.
Students must
fulfill a required number of grade visits during the Fitness Lab
open hours.
These visits are completed at the students' convenience. The number of
visits completed, along with other requirements, will determine the final
grade.
Fit Lab students are expected to dress appropriately for activity. Street clothes are not permitted. Clothing that has zippers, buttons, snaps, belt buckles or other hardware is not acceptable. Denim clothing is not permitted. The instructor on duty reserves the right to ask a student who is not abiding by the dress requirements to change clothes or leave for the day.
Community
Service:
Students may enter the Fitness Lab by enrolling in the Community
Services program. Community Services students do not receive units or a
grade. The fee for this program is $50.00 per semester, paid to the Business
Office. Fee receipts need to be returned to the Fitness Lab instructor to be
added into the computer. Community Services students must attend a Fitness
Lab Orientation.
