| Twenty-four Moorpark College students have completed the Associate Degree Nursing Program and are eligible to take the Registered Nursing board examination. The graduation reception and ceremony is December 18 beginning at 5:30 pm the Moorpark College in the Performing Arts Center.
The graduation will be a traditional pinning ceremony including a candle-lighting and recitation of the Nurse’s Pledge. Each new nurse will receive pin from a member of their family or of the faculty who has assisted them in achieving their goal. Students’ appreciative remarks to faculty and family are read as they are being pinned.
The conclusion of the event will include a traditional candle lighting ceremony. It symbolizes the profession’s beginning with Florence Nightingale going into the battlefield with a lantern.
