MOORPARK COLLEGE SUMMER DANCE CONCERT “UNDRESSED”
Moorpark College dance students are excited to present “UNDRESSED,” their third summer dance concert that is entirely student produced, choreographed, and designed on a bare bones budget. Students involved in the Dance 55 production class spent the summer putting together the dance concert. Robert Salas, Dance 55 Instructor, states, “I’m very impressed with the leadership of Ryan Schultze, the Student Producer of UNDRESSED. His enthusiasm and attention to detail make him the perfect student leader for our production. This is Ryan’s last show with Moorpark College.”
The concert title, UNDRESSED, is a play on words and a metaphor for the zero budget production and costumes assembled with items from students’ closets. The dance concert is a combination of student choreographed pieces and guest performers. There is a multitude of styles, including Swing, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Irish.
UNDRESSED is produced by students Ryan Schultze and Tiffani Carrasco. Presenting works are student choreographers, Carmela Alberico, Brenda Alvarado, Vickie Bauer, Tiffani Carrasco, Andrew Hernandez, Noelle Andressen-Kale, Stephanie Kawecki, Heather Malenke, Ryan Schultze, and Heather Smith. Guest performers, Alyssa Belden and The Pierce College Swingheads, will submit choreography.
The summer dance concert will be performed Thursday and Friday, July 28-29, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The performances will be held in the Mainstage Theatre at the Performing Arts Center on the Moorpark College campus at 7075 Campus Road in Moorpark.
