| Political Science instructor Dr. Steve Pfeffer and a group of seven students participated in a Model United Nations conference in Buena Park on March 7.
Through the Model U.N. program students are assigned to an international problem and to a country whose views they must represent. They are tasked with finding a solution that best suits their respective countries, while working toward a resolution that can be accepted by all the countries involved.
All seven student delegates successfully passed a resolution in their respective committees, and student Eric Smith won the top award for Outstanding Conference Delegate.
Pfeffer revitalized the Model UN program at Moorpark after many years of inactivity.
“We were very successful our first time back,” said Pfeffer. “The students really saw themselves taking their roles in leadership.” |
