The Art Gallery at Moorpark College is showing Sweetness, a four-person exhibition through March 5. Taiwanese artist YaYa Chou moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to study Experimental Animation. She presents candy growth formations on rock and concrete, combinations that reference crystallization and mold. Currently pursuing her Master’s Degree at Cal State Northridge, Nicole Culver’s delicate paintings investigate the ways in which we construct, display and observe our identities in the age of virtual reality. Bay area artist Mitra Fabian uses candy and zippers to create sculptures that speak to how we interact with our environment and our bodies.
Pete Goldlust’s lush digital images reflect his interest in mutated, hybrid forms and the psychological states that they represent. |
