Edward Knudson has been named the next Executive Vice President of Student Learning for Moorpark College effective May 18. Interim Executive Vice President Brenda Shubert finishes her contract at the end of this month.
As Executive Vice President of Student Learning, Knudson is the Chief Instructional and Student Services Officer of the 15,000-student comprehensive community college. Moorpark College is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District.
Since 2006, Knudson served as Vice President, Academic Affairs for Bakersfield College. In this capacity, Knudson was the chief instructional officer of the18,000-student body community college.

said Moorpark College President Pam Eddinger. “His depth of experience in community college leadership will help our college move forward.”
From 2002-2006, Knudson served as Dean of Economic and Workforce Development at Bakersfield College, focusing on the departments of Agriculture, Industrial Technology, Business, Computer Studies, Apprenticeship, Tech Prep Consortium, and Economic and Workforce Development.
“Moorpark College has a tremendous reputation statewide and President Eddinger is known as a very progressive leader,” Knudson said. “I am very pleased to be working at such an innovative community college where the integration of student services and instructional programs is the management style.”
Earlier in his career, Knudson was a member of the faculty, department chair and division director in Business and Computer Systems areas with Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. He has also served on the faculty at Oregon State University and the University of Georgia.
At Bakersfield, Knudson developed and implemented a wide range of college and industry partnerships to benefit students. Knudson also worked with the Chamber of Commerce by serving on the Leadership Bakersfield Advisory Board and was president of the Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary Club.
“His commitment to student success and to civic engagement is impressive,” Eddinger said.
Knudson holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. |
