Moorpark College launches a Professional Development Program. The Program is starting with an Educational Institute, the first in a series of institutes for people who want to further develop in their field. The institutes offer high-quality, short-term, practical credit-based workplace development.
Spring 2008, the Educational Institute will include courses in designing curriculum, collaborative learning and leadership styles. The course on leadership styles can be useful to classroom and community leaders alike. These courses are offered on-line in a ½ unit, flexible 8 hour format. Professionals participate for approximately 2 hours a week for 4 weeks. Courses in the Educational Institute may be taken by college instructors, advancing on their salary scale, by secondary instructors completing continuing education units, or in the case of Leadership Styles, by community members wishing to develop their skills.
