MOORPARK COLLEGE DANCE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS
“MOTION FLUX”
An offering of Ballet, Modern and Tap, as well as acclaimed Guest Artists The Dance Department at Moorpark College presents its annual spring student dance concert, “Motion Flux,” an evening of original works by student choreographers, guest artists and select faculty on April 11 and 12 at 8:00pm and April 13 at 2:00pm.
This year’s program, directed by Robert Salas and Beth Megill, offers a variety of works choreographed by students and faculty, as well as the CSUCI Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Carinne Bach. A selection of Moorpark College dancers also had the opportunity to learn and perform the work of guest artist Molly Lynch, Assistant Professor at UCI and former Artistic Director of Ballet Pacifica. Also bringing choreography to Moorpark’s main stage is guest artist Israel “El” Gabriel, who has worked and performed with highly acclaimed ensembles both locally and worldwide. Bringing with him nationally-recognized dancer Bobby Amamizu, Mr. Gabriel offers two variations of Marius Petipa’s original choreography.
The student choreographers presenting works for Motion Flux are David Barrios, Chelsea Dean, Geneva DePalma, Karen Jordan, Christine Kerrigan, Jessica Ramuno and Kristin Rice. Faculty choreographers include Robert Salas and Beth Megill.
