| The Moorpark College Foundation Board, local companies, community groups and college staff members have united to provide more than $130,000 in scholarships for students this year. The reception on May 16 on the Fountain Plaza at the north end of campus will be hosted by foundation board members Mike Wesner, Debbie Heaslip, Tim Weaver, Jodi Bagwell and Eva Conrad.
The foundation hosts an annual ball with the proceeds benefitting Moorpark College scholarships and programs. The fall 2006 ball was sponsored by the following corporate donors: Kaiser, Pardee Homes, California Oaks State Bank, Amgen, Griffin Industries, Inc., The Gas Co. and Bagwell Construction Services.
The foundation also administers numerous scholarship funded by college staff through payroll deduction or annual gifts. Among those scholarships are anthropology, biology, computer science, counseling, education, exotic animal training, history, math, music, nursing, photography, radiologic technology, life science and general science.
The Los Robles Medical Staff donated $10,000 this year to be used for Nursing scholarships.

“Having a committed foundation board, generous faculty and staff and community organizations with the will and heart to support local students, makes our program an ever-increasing success,” said Scholarship technician, Margaret Ramos.
The Moorpark College Scholarship office is open year-round in the Administration Building to assist students with scholarship searches and applications. Staffed by Ramos, the office has information and applications for hundreds of scholarships funded by private foundations and public corporations nationwide.
