MOORPARK INSTRUCTOR TO REPRISE SOAP OPERA ROLE Moorpark – ABC- Disney’s long running daytime drama “One Life to Live” will be producing its 10,000th episode this summer and Moorpark College Theatre Arts instructor John Loprieno will be reprising his role of Cord Roberts for the celebration. The anniversary episodes are scheduled to air on ABC-TV August 16th and 17th. Loprieno has had a long history with “One Life To Live.” He originally played the role of Cord Roberts from 1985-1997 and also functioned as a staff writer from 2004-2006 for which the writing staff was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2006. “I’m really looking forward to bringing Cord back to Llanview,” said Loprieno. “It’s like putting on an old pair of well-loved jeans. I can’t wait to see what they’ll have Cord getting into this time.” The last time Cord returned to OLTL for a brief appearance was in 2004.
For the last year, Loprieno has been teaching full-time at Moorpark College in the Theatre Arts department where he also directed “JB” by Archibald MacLeish. This summer Loprieno is teaching online and directing the family comedy “Scapino” that opens July 19th and runs until August 5th. “I’m constantly amazed by the caliber of talent at Moorpark College. From the technical students to the students performing on stage, the quality and commitment is inspiring.” said Loprieno. “We’re doing three shows this summer alone. I can’t think of a better learning environment.”
