Playing sports does more than just build muscle -- it builds character. Athletes must cooperate, think critically and quickly, and demonstrate integrity if they are to succeed both on and off the field. Moorpark College’s Year of Service has invited several current and former professional baseball players to speak about their careers -- how they made it onto the pro-ball field and how that affected their lives off the field. Their separate life stories share common themes of team-spirit and individual character, and their life paths share not only a sport but also a greater purpose of giving back to society. These players will show how the true talent that leads to success comes from within. |
