Zoo offers Day Camp
America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College will host two special events this holiday season, a weekend holiday event for all ages and a day camp Dec. 31- Jan. 4 for ages 6 to 11.
The annual “Presents for Primates” event is December 22 and 23 from 11 am to 5 pm. It features holiday games and booths including an opportunity to make behavior enrichment " presents" for the many primates cared for at the zoo.
In conjunction with the weekend event, zoo staff are asking visitors to bring nonperishable food, and gently used blankets and clothing to benefit a local homeless shelter. Those who bring a donation will receive a free booth ticket. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children and seniors.
The Jr. Safari Winter Day Camp Day Camp is registering children ages 6 to 11 now. The camp runs Dec. 31- Jan. 4
and this year's theme is : Around the World in 5 Days . The camp fee is $275 for full day of camp, and $145 for a half day.

America’s Teaching Zoo is a world renowned, nonprofit facility run by staff and students of the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program (E.A.T.M.). Students of the program are dedicated to enriching the lives of the zoo’s 150 exotic birds, mammals and reptiles. E.A.T.M.’s rigorous two-year program prepares graduates for a variety of careers, including public and private parks, aquariums, wildlife education, conservation, research, and the entertainment industry.
