Moorpark College Theatre Arts and The High Street Arts Center are proud to announce a co-production of an evening of original One Act plays written and directed by Moorpark College students. The evening of original work will feature five original plays and run Saturdays and Sundays from January 14-29. The plays were chosen by Ken Rayzor, General Manager of the High Street Arts Center, from the ten original plays presented at Moorpark College in December. The plays include: "We Have Our Moments," written and directed by Christopher Guerrero, is a romantic comedy that follows two friends who find themselves falling in love. "Leader of Soldiers," written by Direk Cartwright and directed by Mary Jones, is a powerful drama that explores the depth of bonds between soldiers during war. "The Bridge," written by Jeremy Barbee and directed by Zohaib Choudhry, is a poignant comedy that shows how two strangers can become friends. "Godlike Hubris," written and directed by Mike Hixon, explores the battle of heavenly powers for the fate of mankind. "Guy Dies at the End," written and directed by Christopher Campbell, is a hilarious and often surreal journey through the mind of a writer as he struggles through writer's block. Given the mature themes and language in these plays, some content may not be suitable for younger viewers or all audiences. "With the ongoing success of our collaboration with our improv comedy troupe, 'Improv-a-sutra,' we are thrilled to build on the growing alliance between the High Street Arts Center and Moorpark College, Theatre Arts," said Theatre Arts, Department Chair, John Loprieno. “The continued support by the City of Moorpark and Ken Rayzor has become a huge boost to our students, and we are honored to be associated with the high standards and quality of production at the High Street Arts Center."
