| Nationally syndicated columnist and veteran journalist Robert Scheer will discuss hot topics in today's politics when he appears at Moorpark College at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29 in the Performing Arts Center auditorium.
The event is free and open to the public as part of Moorpark College's Year of Democracy series.

Scheer is a professor at the University of Southern California, a regular contributor to NPR's Left, Right and Center, and writes a syndicated op-ed column based at the San Francisco Chronicle. He is also the Editor of truthdig.com.
With more than 30 years experience as a journalist including the L.A. Times, Scheer has interviewed every president from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton. He has been a Poynter fellow at Yale, and a brother in arms at Stanford.
His newest book, The Pornography of Power: How Defense Hawks Hijacked 9/11 and Weakened America focuses on defense policy and military issues facing our country today. Mr. Scheer will sign copies of his books after the event.
