Recycling has been a common practice for most of human history, with recorded advocates as far back as Plato in 400 BC. During periods when resources were scarce, archaeological studies of ancient waste dumps show less household waste. The Next Generation of Regeneration features the work of five artists who use recycled materials in their work from Grandma Prisbrey’s Bottle Village that represents recycling from the previous generation to four artists currently working with recycled materials. These artists are preventing waste by processing used materials into new products. This ultimately saves energy and resources as well as money. Recycling Fact: If 300,000 people would stop junk mail coming to their home, they could save half a million trees.
