Birthday Cake in the Campus Center Quad Wednesday 11-1 pm. History Exhibit Reception in Administration Building Gallery Thursday 2 pm.
Buoyed by a successful and memorable 40th Anniversary Kickoff party at the College's Griffin Stadium on Saturday, college officials will host two more events this week with many others planned through the end of the school year in May, 2008.
Since being established as the second Ventura County Community College in 1967, Moorpark has grown to become the largest college in the district serving about 14,000 students per semester.
Although the college opened on September 11th, officials are waiting one day more to cut the "birthday "cake. The cake will be served free to all from 11am to 1 pm, Wednesday at the Campus Center.
On Thursday at 2 pm the college will host a reception to open the first of two photo and memorable exhibits. The reception will be held in the Administration Building gallery. A retrospective of student photographs from the first two decades at the college will be hung simultaneously in the Food Court.
The signature event of the 40th Anniversary year will be set around the President's Day holiday, when all alumni, retired and founding staff and faculty will be invited back for a multimedia presentation of campus life photographs by John Grzywacz- Gray, the college's only full-time photography faculty member who started his career at the college in 1971.
