Frederick Douglass Revealed
Tues. Feb. 17: Actor Arthur Burghardt presents Frederick Douglass, a one-man interpretation of the life of this Civil War-era abolitionist and leader on the Main Stage of the Performing Arts Center. Free and open to the public. A Year of Democracy event in honor of Black History Month. www.moorparkcollege.edu/yearof .
Burghardt is a stage and screen actor who won an Emmy award in 1972 for his portrayal of Frederick Douglass in a play he wrote called, "Frederick Douglass...Through His Words."
His first movie appearance was as the Great Ahmed Kahn in the 1976 film
Network.
