Entered UC Santa Barbara in spring 1980;
completed bachelor's degree in evolutionary and environmental biology in 1982; completed master's degree in biological sciences in 1985.
Worked as a contractor to the US Navy, training dolphins in Hawaii and beluga whales in San Diego
Started teaching part-time at Moorpark College in 1981
Hired full-time at Moorpark College in 1985 to direct the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program

One of the founders of the Animal Behavior Management Alliance; has served as the Chief Financial Officer from 1999-2003.
