Spring Spectacular Information

Spring Spectacular is 3 weekends long.  Zoo hours are from 10am  to  5pm.

Below is a list of events and areas we encourage you to see, during your vist.

Main Show

Our Main show is presented 4 times a day - at 10:30am,  12noon,  2pm  and 4pm, in the Wildlife Theater.  This show features some of America's Teaching Zoo's most popular animals, and will be produced by and starring the students in the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program, Class of 2013.  
   Your ticket to the Main Show is included with the price of admission..!

Showtimes are;   10:30,  12:00,  2:00  &  4:00pm

Cougar Presentation

At 3:00pm each day. Come see and learn about one of our local large cats.  This special presentation, featuring one of America's Teaching Zoo's mountain lions, will give you a better understanding of this amazing animal.  Students and staff will walk this 100+ pound cat literally inches away from you (but safely behind a fence), while they discuss the life, legends and information about the mountain lion.  FREE - Included with your admission.

We may also have other Animal Demonstrations and Animal Feedings throughout the day, scattered around the zoo.  Check the daily schedule when you arrive.

Eye to Eye Theater

Fun and informative themed animal shows bring you "Eye to Eye"  -  up close and personal with some of the exotic and native animals at America's Teaching Zoo.  Different animals are featured every hour.

Showtimes are;  11:30,  12:30,  1:30,  2:30,  3:30

Visit the "Eye to Eye" Theater during your travels around the zoo, for some very informative information about some of the animals we have here at America's Teaching Zoo.  FREE - included with your admission.

VIP Tours of the Zoo

Special VIP Tours of the Zoo are available...get a tour of the "behind the scenes" areas of the Zoo, normally off limits to the public.  This VIP Tour features about an hour long walking tour of the zoo, in areas not visited by the average zoo guest.  See many animals that are not on public display, learn their history, where they are from, what they eat, and much more.  Special displays are set up along the tour.

Tours start at: 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00

$5 additional cost for VIP tour tickets.  Tickets available each day during your visit.  Visit the VIP Tour booth, located about halfway down the zoo.

CREATURE FEATURE  ---  Special Animal guests come to visit!!!

Our Creature Feature shows are always popular. These shows occur throughout the day, in our "Creature Feature" Theater - located at the far end of the zoo.  Different guest from a variety of facilities, with different animals each day.  See animals that are TV and Movie stars, and animals not usually seen in zoo collections - right in front of you...!   FREE -  Included in the price of your admission.

Below we will post a list of the different animal companies that will be coming.... updated daily.

Kids Zone 

Our Kids Zone area is for the kids, of course...!  Games, face painting, arts and crafts, photos with some animals... also a giant sling shot that kids can try and hit targets with water balloons, and a "pool" of shredded paper kids can jump in to find prizes... and more...!   Small extra cost for some activities...

Food and other Vendor Booths

We will have a selection of booths set up, with vendors from the local area.  Some will be selling food, others will have gifts.  Be sure to stop and see what they have to offer.  

Raffle Area

We will have an amazing selection of prizes available in our Raffle area.  Purchase tickets for a chance to win guest passes, gift cards and much more.. 

Spring Spectacular T-shirts

We will have  a large selection of Spring Spectacular 2013  T-shirts for sale, in all sizes.  This is a great way to help rememebr the fun day you had at America's Teaching Zoo.  All proceeds help to feed the animals..!
