CONGRATULATIONS!
Your professor thinks so highly of your work, (s)he wants to nominate your essay for The Student Writing Awards (deadline: March 21st, 2013).
For your work to be accepted and to be considered for an award that ranges from $200-$250 . . .
First make sure your essay has been saved as a Word or pdf doc. Any other format will be rejected by the system.
Next, forward your work to your professor via e-mail.
Then complete the Submission/Release Form (provided by your professor and also available at the English Faculty Department website) and put it in S. Dombourian’s box in the Admin. Bldg or in the envelope on her door (HSS 226).
Note that your work will not be accepted without a completed Submission Form.
Undertake these steps NOW since it’s far too likely you will forget to do so later in the semester.
Also, know that it is an honor simply to be selected for this competition. Should you not win, you still need to use the nomination as a feather in your cap—in your application letters at transfer schools, your résumé, and work applications. Few students get nominated for such an award, so make the most of this honor!
Congratulations again—and good luck!
