Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1:  Students will demonstrate clinical competence when performing radiological procedures.

Outcomes for Goal 1:

The Moorpark College Radiological Technology student will be prepared to:

1.1 position patients to demonstrate desired anatomy.

1.2 determine radiographic exposure factors.

1.3 take appropriate precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self and others.

Goal 2:  Students will communicate effectively with patients, health care team and others with sensitivity to age, gender and cultural diversity.

Outcomes for Goal 2:

The Moorpark College Radiological Technologist student will:

2.1 demonstrate good oral and written communication skills with patients, peers and others during clinical rotations.

2.2 present and discuss a pathological case to classmates and faculty.

2.3 research, interpret and summarize a topic of their choice to demonstrate written communication   skills.

Goal 3:  Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills needed to provide safe, high quality patient care.

Outcomes for Goal 3:

The Moorpark College Radiological Technology student will exhibit good critical thinking and problem solving skills:

       3.1 when performing pediatric examinations.

       3.2 when adapting standard procedures to trauma patients.

       3.3 when performing image critique evaluations.

Goal 4:  Students will demonstrate professionalism and will be encouraged to pursue lifelong learning.

Outcomes for Goal 4:

The Moorpark College Radiological Technology student will:

4.1 model value-based behaviors and work ethics while in the program.

4.2 participate in conference and/or Continuing Education (CE) activity.
 

Goal 5:  Students will graduate and will be prepared for employment as a competent entry-level Radiological Technologist.

Outcomes Goal 5:

Students in the Moorpark College Radiological Technology Program will:

        5.1 graduate and qualify to enter the field of Radiologic Technology.

        5.2 perform as entry level practitioners as rated by employer satisfaction surveys.

        5.3 participate as entry level practitioners as rated by graduate satisfaction surveys.
