Welcome to Nursing Science

Moorpark College offers a two year curriculum

Designed to prepare the student for entry into the practice of nursing. The successful completion of this program entitles the student to an Associate of Science Degree, and meets the eligibility requirements to take the professional licensing examination to become a registered nurse.

The Associate Degree Nursing Program began in 1981 as a satellite of Ventura College while in the process of obtaining the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approval. Independent BRN approval was granted to the program in 1983. In June 1990, the Associate Degree Nursing Program was granted initial accreditation by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission(NLNAC). Accreditation through the NLNAC is a program choice contributing to the high quality of the Moorpark College nursing program. As of May 2013, NLNAC has changed their name to Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Moorpark College is committed to providing an equal opportunity to students, employees, and the public, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, marital status, or veteran status.
