Getting Started (0 units): At this stage, I will be able to:

 

  1. Identify options available at Moorpark College
  2. Apply for admission
  3. Take an online math & English assessment
  4. Complete an orientation
  5. Register for classes
  6. Identify options for financing my education

The First 15 (0 to 15 units): At this stage, I will be able to:

  1. Understand the Student Code of Conduct
  2. Identify appropriate courses
  3. Identify my personal learning needs and the services that support me
  4. Keep current with my college accounts (fees, email, course studio, registration, etc…)
  5. Access the Library and Learning Resources (on-campus and online)
  6. Identify campus resources for health and emergencies


Making Progress (16 to 30 units): At this stage, I will be able to:

  1. Identify an area of interest (major, certificate, area of emphasis, etc.)
  2. Develop a Student Education Plan
  3. Meet with professors during their office hours
  4. Use resources in the Learning Center and Library to develop my skills
  5. Evaluate information sources for academic or professional use
  6. Attend a campus event
  7. Check my health


Moving Forward (31 to 45 units): At this stage, I will be able to:

  1. Identify career, transfer, or graduation options
  2. Apply for transfer or seek professional internships
  3. Apply learning strategies and skills to succeed in college
  4. Maintain academic standards of achievement, honesty, and integrity
  5. Update my Student Education Plan


Graduation Transition (46 to 60 units): At this stage, I will be able to:

  1. Complete transfer requirements
  2. Petition for graduation
  3. Apply for financial aid or scholarships for transfer
  4. Develop a resume and portfolio
  5. Search for employment
  6. Effectively use information in academic or professional work


Lifetime Learning (61 units and beyond): At this stage, I will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate and apply skills for lifelong learning
  2. Attend, organize, or volunteer for a Moorpark College event
  3. Join the alumni organization and/or support the Moorpark College Foundation
  4. Access Moorpark College personal development options beyond graduation and transfer
  5. Apply what I have learned at Moorpark College to contribute to society
