The Moorpark College Foundation presents Golfing for Scholars, Monday, July 11, 2016, at the Moorpark Country Club (11800 Championship Drive, Moorpark, CA 93021). Hosted by Moorpark College alum and local rancher Ken Gerry, owner, Gerry Ranch, the purpose of this inaugural event is to raise $25,000 for the foundation. The event will feature hole-in-one contests with the opportunity to win a new car provided by Paradise Chevrolet and a new golf cart from Coast Cart, a $5,000 putting contest sponsored by Financial Pointe, and the chance to win $1,000,000 (covered by an insurance policy). The entry fee is $125.00 which includes green fees, a cart, lunch provided by Jimmy John’s, and an awards dinner. Registration opens at 11:00 am; Tee-Time begins at 1:00 pm; and the awards dinner is at 5:00 pm.
More than 100 golfers are expected to participate in this fun-filled day of excitement with closest to the pin contests on all par three holes and prizes for the longest and straightest drives. There will also be a silent and live auction with a golf vacation stay at El Dorado Ranch in San Felipe, Baja, California, and tickets to Dodger baseball games as select prizes.
