The Mathematics Department offers basic skills and transfer level courses in Mathematics. A number of Department courses apply toward the Mathematics competency for graduation. Mathematics courses are fundamental preparation for a wide range of majors, including business, computer science, physical and life sciences, and social and behavioral sciences among others.
In addition, the Department offers a Mathematics Degree program with courses in both pure and applied mathematics. An Associate's degree in Mathematics can lead to careers in research, education, business, industry, and government. Many areas, such as the physical and social sciences, engineering, economics, and business, are dependent upon the use of applied mathematics in developing solutions to practical problems.
