Programs and Fees
Mooorpark Child Development Center offers part day programs in the morning Monday - Friday in the morning and part time programs in the afternoon Monday - Thursday. You may choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week to attend the program.
All of our classes meet for three hours per day, with the option to add early morning care beginning at 8:00am, or to remain one hour additional to enjoy lunch and some extra social time with friends. Families must register ahead of time for these extensions.
Children may enroll into the program at 2 years of age.
All 2 year old children will remail in the same class for one to two years. The child will move to a 3-5 year old class dependent upon the child's birthday, ability, and make-up of all classes. We do not move children mid-year to other classes.
Children in the three – five year classes remain in the same classroom throughout their time in the program. This practice of Mixed Age Grouping is supported through research as an effective way to meet the varying developmental needs of all children. Additionally, the continuity of care allows teachers, families, and children to develop close, supportive relationships throughout their two years together at the Center. After assignment to a three – five year old classroom, children will only be reassigned to another classroom if the family needs to change from the morning to afternoon, or afternoon to morning.
Rates and Payment Informatoion
All familes in the Moorpark CDC are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee each year. Moorpark College Child Development Laboratory Center makes provisions for the preschool program based on signed contracts. Tuition is due on the first day of eacg month, and payable over eight months as specified in the registration contract. Please note that families are obligated to pay for their contracted time regardless of their child’s attendance (i.e. absences due to illness, vacation, school closings, or any other reason will not result in a tuition refund). All payments are to be paid to the college Business Office. Make checks payable to Moorpark College.
