I began my college education at Moorpark College in 1997.  As a student at Moorpark College I was interested in working for the counseling department.  I was hired as a student worker for the counseling department and it was there were I grew a passion for college counseling.  I remember constantly asking for counselors assistance in guiding me to reach my goal to one day become a college counselor.  I graduated from Moorpark College, received my A. A. in general education and transferred to CSU, Northridge.

I received my B. A. degree in Sociology and my M. S. degree in Counseling.  While attending CSU, Northridge I continued to work at Moorpark College in matriculation, counseling and financial aid.  I also had the opportunity to intern in the EOP offices of CSU, Northridge and it is there were I became passionate about helping students who come from a disadvantaged background.  Being a former first generation Latina, I know how difficult it can be for students to reach their educational goals.   Having graduated high school with a very low gpa, I never thought I would make it in higher education.  I am here to motivate students that it is possible to achieve whatever you set your mind to.  The sky is the limit!
