Financial Aid Award Packaging
In determining your need for aid and your eligibility for the student financial aid programs, we must first consider any other educational resources you're expected to receive. This sometimes consists of veteran's benefits, EOPS or CARE Grants or other educational benefits, such as outside scholarships. We then put together a financial aid package that comes as close as possible to meeting your total financial need. However, because many funds are limited and available only on a first-come, first-serve basis the amount awarded to you may fall short of the amount for which you may be eligible. Ventura County Community College District packaging philosophy goes like this:
| PROGRAM | PACKAGING ORDER |
|---|---|
| Board of Governor's Enrollment Fee Wavier (BOGW) | 1 |
| Federal Pell Grant (PELL) | 2 |
| Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) | 3 |
| Federal Work-study (FWS) | 4 |
| Cal Grant "B" or "C" | 5 |
| Stafford Loan - Subsidized (SUB) | 6 |
| Stafford Loan - Unsubsidized (UNSUB) | 7 |
| Scholarships and Other Educational Resources (Outside Awards) | Scholarships and Other Educational Resources are treated as resources for packaging purposes. |
