Preschool Programs

Moorpark College Child Development Center offers part day programs in the morning Monday - Friday in the morning and part time programs in the afternoon Monday - Thursday.  You may choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week to attend the program.  We serve children ages 2.6 - 5 years of age. Children in the preschool  remain in the same classroom throughout their time in the program. This practice of Mixed Age Grouping is supported through research as an effective way to meet the varying developmental needs of all children. Additionally, the continuity of care allows teachers, families, and children to develop close, supportive relationships throughout their years together at the Center.   Our mixed age classes focus on a appropriately-academic and  brain-based theories of learning where everything presented in the classroom to the child has purpose toward future academic growth and success. It is our goal that all families experience a sense of belonging and support in our program.

Enrichment Programs

The Enrichment Program is an extracurricular experience that we offer to extend your child’s day of learning at the CDC.  Throughout the year we will offer several 5 or 6 week sessions in a specified learning area to expand upon your child’s interest.   Teachers  will facilitate learning through hands on and creative small group experiences both in the CDC and throughout the College Campus.  Enrichment program topics might include: cooking, sewing, wood-working, musical and drama theater, art experience and appreciation, dancing, etc.

Together Time Toddler and Me Class

Together Time is a special class experience for toddlers ages 18 – 34 months.  This enriching class will be an introduction to the lab school classroom, where “Together”, parent or caregiver and toddler will explore, experience, learn and create with our highly qualified and educators at the Moorpark CDC.

Yogamama  is a very special extension of our incredible program.  Yogamama started as a student in the Child Development department here at Moorpark College.  After earning her AA degree from Moorpark College in Child Development, Yogamama went on to obtain her BA degree.  Now Yogamama compliments our incredible program each week by offering several programs at the Moorpark CDC.

As part of the core curriculum, Yogamama works with small groups of children on a weekly basis to promote a positive self- image.  Yogamama focuses on each child’s sense of self, combining stretching, movements, breathing, body awareness, and imagination.  Yogamama incorporates children’s literature and interests into her interactive small group classes.  This enrichment program is nondenominational, as well as optional for all children.
