  1. How big are most classes at Moorpark?
    Our average student-to-teacher ratio is 37-to1, which means you will enjoy personalized attention from our dedicated faculty in a learning environment truly focused on student success.

  2. Will the classes I take at Moorpark College transfer to any four-year university?
    The courses offered by Moorpark provide a wide selection of curricula that meet the requirements for most university majors.  To assist students in planning their programs of study, all transfer credit courses offered by Moorpark have the following classification: UC and CSU.  Courses identified as UC transferable will transfer to any of the 10 campuses in the University of California system. Courses identified as CSU will transfer to any of the 23 campuses in the California State University system.  Students can also transfer credits to other public and private colleges or universities across the United States under the guidance of our helpful counselors in our Counseling Office or in the Career and Transfer Center.

  3. What does it cost to attend Moorpark College?
    Moorpark College enrollment fees are set by the State of California.  All other fees are set by the Ventura County Community College District.  Our enrollment fees are charged per credit hour; most of our classes are 3 credit hours.  For specific costs, please review our information on Moorpark College's Tuition and Fees page.

  4. How do I know if I am eligible for financial aid or scholarships?
    Our well informed financial aid staff knows how to navigate the many applications, deadlines, and requirements needed to successfully earn an award for your education-- so use them!  Our Scholarship Office provides hundreds for students with the financial assistance, recognition and encouragement needed to realize their academic goals.  Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and the promise of future achievement, as well as additional criteria established by the scholarship owner.  

  5. If I need help with my courses, does Moorpark provide tutoring services?
    Absolutely!  We want to see you succeed, so we make every effort to help you along your educational path.  At Moorpark's Teaching and Learning Center, you can utilize a variety of academic enrichment services, like walk-in assistance, online help, or by appointment.  Many subject areas are covered, including the most popular: English and math.

  6. I work full-time.  Can I take courses at Moorpark in my spare time?
    Do not worry.  You are not alone. In fact, most of Moorpark's students work at least part-time and/or have other commitments outside of the classroom.  That is why we offer flexible learning options for those with busy schedules throughout the week.  Choose from late afternoon, evening or our Distance Education courses.  

  7. Does Moorpark offer career planning?
    Moorpark takes pride in providing our students with career assistance through our Career Transfer Center.  The primary purpose of the center is to assist students with major and career exploration and job and internship opportunities.  They provide services such as counseling, assessments, career exploration, internship opportunities, and a variety of workshops related to career exploration. 

  8. I want to network with students, faculty and staff.  Are there leadership opportunities available?
    At Moorpark, we feel there is no better way to connect with the college experience than to connect with fellow students and staff.  Students interested in activities and clubs are able to assume leadership roles quickly through a student organization.  You can be part of anything, with Theater Arts, Choral and Vocal Music Ensembles, Honors Program,and academic teams.  Moorpark also has a student government. Exercise your personal freedoms to become part of Moorpark's tradition of community and excellence.  Plus, our athletics program includes 10 different sports for men and women, and we are close to home, so attending games with family and friends has never been easier.  

  9. How long will it take me to complete my educational goal at Moorpark?
    It depends on what you are trying to achieve.  Moorpark offers programs of study that range from certificates to associate degrees.   Many choose to transfer their associate degree to a four-year institution, while some enter the workforce directly.  Learn about the full range of options by contacting our counselors in the Counseling Office or the Career Transfer Center to determine your education and career goals.
