Symphony Orchestra and Choir: Lutheran Legacy

The Moorpark College Symphony Orchestra and the Symphonic Chorus join forces to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Moorpark College and the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation by performing Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. which uses the “Ein Feste Burg”, the anthem that Martin Luther composed. The choir then joins to perform two Cantatas: “Ein Feste Burg ist Unser Gott” and “Wachet Auf Ruft Uns Die Stimme” by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Also on the program will be the Violin Concerto by Mendelssohn, featuring Bronte Vlashi, and the “Academic Festival Overture” by Brahms.
