Marnie's career in higher education began in 2002 as the re-entry counselor at Oxnard College. Since that time she has worked in multiple departments at two different colleges in a variety of positions such as a CTE Grant Coordinator, CTE Counselor, Career Development instructor and Counseling Department Chair. She currently is the EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs Coordinator for Moorpark College. In this capacity, she works with a wide range of students who come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. As well as students who are economically and academically disadvantage, first-generation, foster youth, AB540, LGBTQ, students with disability and returning students. Marnie is passionate about student success and providing access to a first-class education for students by cultivating an inclusive college environment. She strives to ensure that all students receive an equitable educational experience with the tools needed thrive in college. Ms. Melendez holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance Specializing in College Student Personnel from California Lutheran University. She is currently completing her doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Community College from Fielding Graduate University.
Linda Corrigan, joined Moorpark College as CW Program Specialist in July 2012. She was a previous EOPS student at Moorpark College, received her AA degree, and finished up with a BA in Sociology, and MS in Counseling (Career Specialization) at California State University, Northridge. She worked at various county agencies, elementary and middle schools, Adult Education, and at Oxnard Community College. Providing Academic career counseling, job development and mentor support for students. Linda is an avid swimmer and cyclist herself, and coaches competitive swimming, ages 5 to 17 in her spare time and enjoys the company of her two grandchildren. She enjoys staying active in biking, hiking, writing and photography.
Esmeralda Camarena joined Moorpark College in April 2016. She previously worked at Los Angeles Pierce College as the CalWORKs counselor and held various other student services positions at Oxnard and Ventura Colleges. Currently, she also serves as an academic counselor at Santa Barbara City College. Esmeralda obtained a BA in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach and an MS in Counseling from California Lutheran University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending music concerts and sporting events including baseball, football, and basketball.
Angelica "Angie" Rodriguez has been a counselor at Moorpark College since 2012, she works with students from three programs EOPS, CARE, and CalWORKs. Angie is a first generation college student and a former EOPS student. She transferred from Ventura College to University of California, Santa Barbara and received a Bachelor’s in History. She also received a Master of Science in Counseling from California Lutheran University. Angie enjoys working with all students and her message to students is “Challenges don't make us weak, instead they expose our inner strength."
