Resources for STUDENT PARENTS
Public postsecondary education for students with dependent children is a growing need in our community. The journey to and through college is challenging for many students, but it is even more challenging for student parents as they juggle academic demands while also raising children. Moorpark College recognizes that Student parents face greater economic barriers than students without children.
The student parent population deserves particular focus and support. AB 2881 provides a multifaceted approach to support student parents at the community colleges, California State University, and University of California by granting priority registration to student parents, as well as listing available resources. We have established this student parent webpage to highlight available services and resources, and to increase awareness of the California Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children. We are dedicated to the academic success and degree attainment for student parents, while focusing on their needs and the needs of their children.
