Enrolling at Moorpark College

All students must complete the Moorpark College application through CCCApply.

Application tips:

• Use a personal email address, not a high school email, to ensure continued access after graduation.
• When asked about citizenship or immigration status:
  • If you do not have legal immigration documents, select “Other” under citizenship and “Other” or “No documents” under visa type.
  • If you are a DACA recipient, you may enter your DACA-issued Social Security Number and select “Other” for citizenship and visa type, including your DACA issue and expiration dates.
  • Disclosure is optional. You may choose not to provide this information at the time of application and can update it later with Admissions & Records if needed.

After submitting your application, most undocumented students are initially classified as Nonresident for tuition purposes. This is expected.

You may still qualify for in-state tuition through one of the options below:

Option A: Residency Reclassification

(for students with an eligible immigration status, such as DACA)

You may request California Residency Reclassification if all of the following apply:

• You hold (or have applied for) an eligible immigration status at least 366 days before the start of the term
• You have been physically present in California for at least one year prior to the term
• You intend to make California your permanent home

Eligible students submit a Residency Reclassification Request with required supporting documentation to Admissions & Records using their @my.vcccd.edu email.

Option B: AB 540 Nonresident Tuition Exemption

If you do not meet residency reclassification requirements, you may still qualify for a nonresident tuition waiver under AB 540.

To apply:

• Complete the California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request (AB 540 Affidavit)
• Submit the form with a copy of your California high school transcript

Important: The AB 540 Affidavit is submitted electronically and routed directly to Admissions & Records. Students do not need to email the form separately.

Undocumented and Dreamer students who qualify for AB 540 are encouraged to apply for state financial aid by completing the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).

Support is available through:

• Financial Aid workshops and live assistance
• One-on-one guidance from a Financial Aid Dreamer Ally

All students are strongly encouraged to meet with a Dreamer counselor to:

• Develop an educational plan
• Select courses for the semester
• Discuss transfer, certificate, or career pathways

New students are encouraged to complete the SCOR (Student College Orientation) workshop via Canvas before registering for classes.

Additional Support: EOPS

Eligible Dreamer and undocumented students are encouraged to apply for EOPS, which provides academic, counseling, and financial support.

General eligibility includes:

• California resident or AB 540 status
• Enrollment requirements (unit minimums vary by student population)
• Fewer than 50 degree-applicable units
• Eligibility for the California College Promise Grant
• Educational disadvantage as defined by EOPS
