Stronger Preparation for Calculus I (Precalculus)

Starting Fall 2026, Math M24 + M24S replaces the traditional 6-unit precalculus course (Math M07). 
This new course pairing is designed to help you succeed in your first semester of Calculus, with built-in support every step of the way.

The Moorpark College Mathematics Department redesigned the precalculus experience using innovative practices such as:
• Extra practice time through activities and games,
• Embedded in-class tutor
• Focused content on the algebra and trigonometry skills most important for success in Calculus I
• More opportunities to demonstrate proficiency, including multiple retests
• Online lecture videos and notes for additional review outside class
• Smaller class sizes to support learning and collaboration
• Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) — all course materials are free
• Growth-mindset approach that encourages persistence and improvement

Applied Calculus with Built-In Support

Starting Fall 2026, most sections of Math M16A Applied Calculus will be paired with Math M16AS Support for Applied Calculus, taught by the same professor on campus. Together, they create one connected learning experience designed to support student success in Applied Calculus.
This pairing provides 5 hours per week of instruction, guided practice, and support.
