Shared Materials and Resources for Teaching, also known as S.M.A.R.T., is a collaborative resource of compiled successful lesson plans from our very own Moorpark College faculty. S.M.A.R.T. is a shared written forum that invites exploration into successful teaching methods for the Community College classroom environment. The outcomes for this resource aim to include increased local knowledge about teaching and learning, revitalized engagement in teaching, and shared responsibility for student learning. This project aspires to offer a means for instructors to explore new teaching approaches and experiment with new ideas in their classrooms while feeling comfortable that these methods have been successfully implemented by their colleagues. In addition, S.M.A.R.T. is a way to promote a sense of camaraderie within the department through shared discoveries which, ultimately, can strengthen the content and continuity of a course or sequence of courses. S.M.A.R.T. was developed by Jessica Hasson in 2006 and was recognized as one of Moorpark College’s English Department Accomplishments for 2006/2007.

*Please Note-Lesson plans/modules for S.M.A.R.T. are compiled by Jessica Hasson and are always welcomed at jhasson@vcccd.edu. They will be published into MC Share soon after they are sent.  All new lessons should be sent as a Word attachment with the subject heading S.M.A.R.T.
