Criminal Justice Program
The Criminal Justice AS Degree Program at Moorpark College is an academic program supporting student transfer to four year institutions for a BA in Sociology and BS in Criminal Justice as well as a vocational program providing educational training for students interested in immediate employment in the fields of Law Enforcement, Courts, Corrections and Private Sector Security. The Criminal Justice Program also offers advanced educational courses to current Criminal Justice practitioners who are pursuing advancement within the field. Many diversified local, state, federal agencies employ graduates in Criminal Justice. On the local level, opportunities exist at municipal police departments, county sheriffs' offices, probations departments, and private security agencies. On the state level, opportunities include the State Police, Department of Corrections, Alcohol and Beverage Control, DMV, Forestry and California Youth Authority. Federal opportunities include the FBI, Secret Service, Border Patrol, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Federal Prisons.
