Accommodations, Procedures and Policies
Although students may be eligible for several different services, not all services are appropriate for all classes.
It is important to remember that students are never required to use any accommodation or service and accommodation or services do not happen automatically.
Students are asked to complete a "Student Education Contract" with ACCESS each semester. This tells us what classes you are taking and gives you an opportunity to consult with a specialist who can assist you with class selections and accommodations. The specialist may also take this opportunity to make suggestions for additional classes or activities that will improve the student's learning skills.
Students must request the services and accommodations they wish to use for each class, each semester. We will assist the student in notifying the instructor of any accommodation or service that involves testing or classroom instruction.
If there is a problem with arranging or obtaining any authorized service or accommodation, it is the responsibility of the student to notify ACCESS. If a solution cannot be reached the student should speak to the ACCESS Coordinator as soon as possible.
