Graduation information for families and guests

Moorpark College is excited to welcome families and friends of students participating in our 2018 Graduation ceremony! This page is intended to provide important information for guests regarding parking, directions, restrictions, special accommodations, and other topics. Any questions that are not answered on this page can be directed to MC Student Activities Specialist Kristen Robinson at or at (805) 553-4976.
Ceremony information
Moorpark College's 2018 graduation ceremony is taking place on Friday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. in the Upper Campus Stage Quad (view the Upper Campus Map here). There is no limit to the number of guests a graduating student may invite, but we do urge families and friends to arrive early to secure the best seating possible.
Parking information

Parking on campus is free for the day, and we invite your guests to park in any student or guest parking lots. We recommend guests try to park in any of the upper-campus parking lots, such as Lot C, Lot B, Lot D, Lot E, or Lot A. Other parking lots on campus will be accessible but will require a significant walk up the hill to the ceremony site. More information about parking lots is available on the Upper Campus Map.

Accessible seating

Moorpark College strives to provide wheelchair and companion seating to guests with disabilities. However, please note that seating for the graduation ceremony is available on a first come, first serve basis and is subject to availability. We recommend arriving well in advance of the ceremony to ensure a larger selection of seating options. Volunteer ushers will be available the day of the event to assist with any other matters.

Live webcast of ceremony

Every year Moorpark College offers a live-stream of the ceremony, which later is posted to the Moorpark College Film, Media, and Television YouTube page.

Information on what is or isn't permissible to bring to the ceremony
Drugs and alcohol are not allowed! MC is a smoke-free campus, so smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco or unregulated nicotine products (like e-cigarettes) is prohibited on or within the MC campus. Students or guests cannot bring firearms, fireworks, or loud noise-makers to the ceremony. Balloons are permitted, though we ask that guests carrying balloons be considerate of the other guests around them and not obstruct their vision.

Pet policy
Only service animals specifically trained to assist a person with a disability are permitted on campus during the MC Graduation ceremony.

Hotel accommodations
Out-of-town guests may wish to stay at any of these local hotels (none of which are endorsed by Moorpark College):
