Q: Can I borrow items from the library?

A: Yes, the library building is open to check out books, laptops and calculators. Please visit our Library Hours web page to see when we are available for in-person services. 

Q: How do I find something my teacher put on reserve?

A: Course reserves can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Q: Can I do research from home?

A: Yes - please see our Library Guide for Students for more information on how to research from home. 

Q: How do I find books?

A: Please see our short video tutorial on using the library catalog. You can access the catalog from your MyVCCCD account, by clicking on the “Library & Learning Resources” tab, then on “One Search.”

Q: How do I find articles?

A: Please see our short video on How to Find an Article with One Search. From your MyVCCCD account click on the “Library Learning Resources” tab, then on the “One Search” button.

 Q: What if the library does not have what I’m looking for? 

A: Please contact the librarian at the reference desk and they will assist you with finding comparable material, or access through a different library. 

 Q: Where can I go to get help with writing a paper? What if I need someone to proofread my paper?

A: Please visit the Writing Center online to schedule an appointment with a writing tutor. The Writing Center has consultants available to work with students one-on-one on writing and study skills.
