Student Activities
All students have the opportunity to learn and practice skills in self advocacy and civic responsibility by participating in student government and student organizations through extracurricular activities. The Student Activities office provides opportunities for students to get involved in student life at Moorpark College. We are here to give Moorpark College students a voice for their ideas and opinions, both on and off campus. We provide opportunities and encouragement for students to get involved through events, committees and clubs. We inspire students towards critical thinking, civic responsibility, leadership, free expression and understanding. We will continue to analyze our organization and make changes to stay current in our ever-changing world.
What is Associated Students Board of Directors?
Every registered student at Moorpark College is a member of the Associated Students. Each spring semester, the Associated Students elects a ten member student governement Board of Directors. These elected students volunteer their time to serve a 1 year term of office on this Board of Directors representing the Mooppark College student body on issues at local, district, state and federal levels. This Board actively serves as the student voice on college participatory committees. The Associated Students objectives are to support the diversity of needs and views of students, and to provide for the expression of student opinion on issues affecting student life.
We provide services to Moorpark College students such as issuing student ID cards, offering give-aways to card holders, overseeing all student organizations that provide a diverse activities program sponsoring campus events such as the annual Student Talent Show, One Campus One Book, Poetry Series, Business Transfer Night and Multicultural Day. Associated Students /College Photo I.D.
The Moorpark College photo I.D. card may be purchased through WebStar or at the college Business Office for $10.00/semester or $15.00/year. Once you have purchased your ID card, please bring the printed receipt to the Associated Students office in the Campus Center and have your picture taken. A photo I.D. card will be made for your use to receive discounts at local businesses & movie theaters, college athletic events, and college theatrical performances, in addition to using this card for campus services. Student Organizations
There are a number of student organizations at Moorpark College, including the Multimedia Club, Gay Straight Alliance Club and the World Students Social Organization.
