Meet the team
MESA Program Director
In this capacity, Kristen manages day-to-day operations, including student services like advising, tutoring, and transfer assistance, for MESA students. She also develops and implements program activities, collaborates with faculty and staff, and builds partnerships to enhance MESA student success.
Academic Counselor
As Academic Counselor for the MESA Program, Melanie helps students map out academic paths, create Student Education Plans (SEPs) for graduation or transfer (CSU/UC), and select courses. Melanie also provides guidance on degree requirements, financial aid, and academic notice, providing personalized support for student success.
Faculty Mentor
As faculty mentor, Mike leads Academic Excellence Workshops (AEWs), facilitates industry connections, and helps students navigate college to increase transfer rates to four-year universities. Mike supports the MESA Center and mentors students and provides academic advisement.
