Disabilities Awareness Week

Moorpark College is hosting its first Disabilities Awareness Week between Oct 21-October 25! We want to support better awareness for the Moorpark College community about the value that students with disabilities bring to our campus. The ACCESS department is supporting two events for the week.

  •  Tuesday, October 22 from 1:00-3:15pm in AC 204: Disability and Accessibility: A Social Justice Issue. Film screen and discussion of documentary, “Crip Camp”. Post screening discussion led by Jolie Herzig, ACCESS Counselor

  • Wednesday, October 23 from 1:00-2:00pm in TB 114: Students with Disabilities Panel Discussion. Conversation with Moorpark College students with disabilities. Moderated by Shyan Diaz-Brown, ACCESS Coordinator

What is ACCESS?

Accessibility Coordination Center and Educational Support Services (ACCESS) supports students with verified disabilities by determining and providing reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aids, and support services.

ACCESS Mission Statement:

In addition, we support both the spirit and the letter of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 that guarantees every person with a disability equal access to all educational programs and activities offered by the College.

ACCESS is located on the ground floor of the LM building. This is a two story building at the northeast side of the campus. Students may reach ACCESS by parking in lot B and C. Campus Map
