The California Work Opportunities and Responsibilities to Kids (CalWORKs) program at Moorpark College provides services and support to continuing or new students who are receiving Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF)/CalWORKs (Cash Aid) benefits. 

What services does Moorpark College CalWORKs provide?

Moorpark College CalWORKs Program Services Include:    

  • Priority registration 

  • Individual academic, career, and personal counseling in a safe and confidential setting for transitional students  

  • Welfare to Work Advocacy and workshops for professional development 

  • Coordinate with county social services for welfare-to-work plans and mandated hours, referrals to campus and community-based resources 

  • Transportation assistance and educational supplies 

  • On-campus work-study opportunities to gain valuable work-based knowledge and skills  

How do I qualify for the CalWORKs Program?

In order to qualify: 

  • Students must currently receive cash aid or TANF for themselves and their dependent child/ children 

  • Student plans to work towards one of the following: 

  • Certificate, Associate Degree, Transfer to a 4-year University, and/or improve employability skills 

  • Willing to complete approved weekly activity hours (work-study, etc.)
