How to buy a student ID card

Sample Moorpark College Student ID CardAn ID card can be purchased during fall semester registration for the entire academic year at $15 or for the semester rate of $10. Students who buy an ID card at the time of spring registration may purchase it for a semester only, as the year-long ID card is available only at the beginning of the academic year. A student who registers in spring but purchases a year ID at $15 will be produced a semester ID and directed to the Moorpark College Student Business Office for a refund of the $5 balance, as year-long ID cards can only be produced in the summer or fall for the current academic year.

Currently registered students can purchase a Moorpark College ID online via their MyVCCCD portal. Just log in to My.VCCCD.edu, click on the "Register / Pay" tab, navigate to the "Payment and Payment Plans" section at the top right (on a desktop; this section is halfway down the page if you are viewing on your cell phone or a similar device), and click on the link that says "Purchase Student Photo ID." Select the term for which you wish to purchase your ID card (you must also be registered for classes for that term) and click submit. This will add the $15 or $10 charge to your Student Schedule Bill, which you can pay by clicking on the ePayment button under the "Payment and Payment Plans" section.

Students who prefer to purchase their ID cards while on campus can visit the Student Business Office to do so. Check out the Student Business Office's website to learn their hours.

How to get your ID card made

The Student Activities Office offers two ways for Moorpark College students, faculty, staff, and administrators to have their official campus ID cards made.
Students walk from the Academic Center building up to Raider Walk. Picture has the words "MC offers two ways to get your ID card made" across it.Take your picture in-person at the ASMC Office in the Campus Center.

Students can come in to the Student Activities Office without an appointment and have their picture taken and card printed on the spot! After you have paid for the ID card, bring your receipt (printed either from your MyVCCCD portal or from the Student Business Office) and another form of valid identification* to the Student Activities Office to have your photo taken and your ID card printed on the spot. (*We will accept any government-issued ID, such as a California ID card, a valid driver's license, a passport, or a previous ID from a former institution.)

If you do not have a printed receipt, you can pull up your Student Schedule Bill to show proof of purchase by following these steps: log in to My.VCCCD.edu, click on the "Register / Pay" tab, navigate to the "Payment and Payment Plans" section at the top right (on a desktop; this section is halfway down the page if you are viewing on your cell phone or a similar device), and click on the link that says "Student Schedule Bill." Select the term for which you purchased the ID card and click submit. This will pull up a page that shows the classes you've registered for, as well as the fees you have been assessed, included a student ID card fee.

The Student Activities Office is located in the Campus Center from the Bookstore, and it is open this fall Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and most Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Second option is to email your picture to ASMCBoard@vcccd.edu ahead of time

Students can also email in their photo to have their MC student ID card produced and ready for pick up. Follow these instructions to have your ID card made in advance and ready for you to pick up the next time you're on campus:

  1. Purchase your photo ID, either through the MyVCCCD portal (under the "Register / Pay" tab) or in person at the Student Business Office in Fountain Hall.
  2. Review the email submission guidelines to make sure the photo you send meets the necessary criteria. Click here to view photo submission guidelines.
  3. Once you have reviewed the photo submission guidelines in step 2, email the following to  ASMCBoard@vcccd.edu:
  • Your MC-compliant photo
  • Your full name as it appears on your application or records
  • VCCCD student ID number (900- number)
  • Indicate if you bought an ID for the semester ($10) or the year ($15)
  • Include "Student ID card purchase" in the subject line
  • If you are part of one of Moorpark College's Health Science programs (e.g., Nursing Student, EMT Program, Rad Tech Program, Nuclear Medicine, or Optical Technology), please indicate this in your email too so we can produce your program-specific ID card
  1. Your photo will be reviewed for adherence to the submission guidelines. If it is acceptable, you will receive a follow-up email, notifying you that your ID card is ready for pick up. If it is unacceptable, you will receive notification to submit a new photo. If you cannot submit a photo that is complaint with the required specifications, you will be asked to come in to the office in person to have your photo taken by the Student Activities staff.
  2. Come to the Student Activities Office during normal business hours to pick up your card. You will need to bring your receipt or have your Student Schedule Bill open on your phone to show proof of purchase, as well as show a valid government-issued photo ID card, such as a driver's license or a passport, to receive your MC student ID card.
  3. Start enjoying the perks to owning an MC student ID card!

The Student Activities Office is located in the Campus Center from the Bookstore, and it is open this fall Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and most Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
