Moorpark College is proud to announce a partnership with Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NAVSEA), and the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center ((NAVFAC EXWC) that includes paid internships, full-ride scholarships with living stipend, field trips to Fathomwerx Lab, guest speakers, and civilian employment opportunities for STEM majors.

This is a $7K, 10-Week* Paid Summer Internship Program. For those with an Associates Degree the stipend is $8,500. For students taking it a second time or Bachelor's Degree, $9,000. And for students with a Masters Degree; $10,000.
*Students will be eligible for F/T employment opportunities upon successful completion of the 10-week paid internship. Must be a U.S. Citizen/Security Clearance Mandatory
Preferred Majors: CNSE, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics
DoD SMART Scholarship
The Navy is encouraging students to apply to the SMART Scholarship for Service program. Students accepted into the program receive a full-tuition scholarship, living stipend, and money for expenses such as books and health insurance.
At the conclusion of the student’s degree program, SMART scholars are guaranteed a job with their sponsoring facility SMART Scholarship for Service Program
Additional Information about the SMART Program
• Purpose: Provide community college students with career exploration in STEM
• Covers full-tuition & educational expenses
• Covers living stipend at a rate of $25K-$38K per/year and health insurance
• Full-time employment offer by the Department of Navy (DON) upon completion of their degree pathway.
