Professor Michael Walegur passed away from complications due to a medical condition in August 2018. He was a full-time faculty member for 10 years and was a valued member of the Moorpark College science division. " I have grown closer to him than most professors over the years and he has had a hand in guiding my education and future. As a geography major I would consult with him and visit during office hours and we would talk about life and share laughs together. He was a great man and I was deeply saddened to hear how he passed. Now that he is no longer with us I would like to remember him by having some sort of gathering for friends or students who would like to honor his legacy with stories, memories, jokes, anything of the like. I would also like the ideal to be reinforced into us that life should be cherished and no single breath should be taken for granted. Because the sad truth is that everything could be taken away without a moments notice."
