California Community Colleges uses ID.me to help protect student identities and prevent fraudulent students from taking spots in classes at Moorpark College.

Acceptable Documents for Identity Verification:

For us to verify your identity, you must provide two documents:

1. One Photo Identification - For example: State identification (ID) card, Driver license, Permanent Resident Card, Passport, or Employment Authorization Document
2. One Identity Document - Employment record (e.g. paystub), address verification (Any bill or financial statement showing your name and residence address), or Official birth certificate (with official translation, if any)

ID.me is the fastest and quickest option to verify your identity, allowing you to enroll and register for classes sooner, so we highly encourage all students to use this expedited process.

Certain populations of students won't be able to use or be required to use ID.me:

• No valid identity documentation from country of origin
• No permanent address (housing insecure/homeless/unhoused)
• No internet access or a smartphone (incarcerated/justice-involved)
• Minors (under the age of 18)
• Foster youth or juvenile justice students who are wards of the court

For students that aren’t able to use ID.me, there will be 24/7 student support that will allow you to connect via live chat to verify your identity.

The CA DMV Wallet is a free program. To enroll, follow these steps:

1. Check your device compatibility:

• iPhone: iPhone XS or later with iOS 17.5 or later
• Android: Android 9 or higher with NFC hardware

2. Download the CA DMV Wallet app from the Apple App Store or Google Play
3. Log in to your MyDMV account or create one (you may need to provide your DL# and/or SSN# to upgrade your account)
4. Scan your physical California DL or ID card using the app
5. Complete the verification process for CCCApply

CA DMV Wallet Privacy

The CA DMV Wallet is designed with your privacy as a top priority:

• Usage is not tracked, and no data leaves your device without your consent
• You control what information you share and when
• The mDL provides accurate, secure proof of identity
• Lowers the potential for fraud and identity theft
• Your personal information stays on your device
• You don't have to hand over your physical card

What happens if you verify later?

You can submit your CCCStart application before completing identity verification. If you are not ready to verify your identity when you apply, select “Verify Later.” 

Please note: Your application will not be processed until your identity has been verified. After completing identity verification, allow 3 business days for your application to be processed. Once your application is processed, you will receive a Welcome Email with your MyVCCCD username/email and Student ID number.

Complete Identity Verification After Submitting Your Application

If you selected “Verify Later” and have already submitted your CCCStart application, follow these steps to complete identity verification:

1. Log in to your CCCStart application.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select OpenCCC Profile.
4. Select the OpenCCC Account link.
5. Scroll to the Identity Verification section.
6. Select your preferred identity verification option.
