Log into Handshake by visiting the Handshake sign-in page
Select VCCCD Sign On
Sign in to your VCCCD account. If you do not yet have a Handshake profile, you will be prompted with questions. Please fill out the questionnaire. When you have completed the questionnaire, you will arrive at the Handshake homepage.

Go to your Handshake VCCCD home dashboard
Click on Career Center on the left sidebar

What We Do

The Moorpark College Career Center is dedicated to assisting students in their educational and employment journeys. We offer resume reviews, mock interviews, and other services to boost your career path.

What can an internship do for me?

Allows you to explore careers and to try out a discipline or two
An internship is a good opportunity for students to learn new skills and gain practical experience in the workplace
The focus of an internship is to perform work-related tasks and projects related to your major or occupational goal
Improves your college performance and classroom curriculum can be more meaningful when it relates to your internship
Provides employment advantages. You will have business references and contacts, as well as earning a higher salary since you will already have job experience. Additionally, sometimes an internship can lead to a job
Gives you a head start into your field. Pre-existing work experience can set you apart from other recent grads in the competitive job market
Different employers we work with offer paid and unpaid internships. Both potentially providing you the opportunity to earn college credit. For information on the internship process, please review the following information below

What are my responsibilities as an intern?

Secure an internship
Attend an Internship Course Orientation
Complete all required course paperwork
Complete all required course assignments including capstone project
You must meet with your Faculty Advisor (who is assigned to you) at least two times during your internship to discuss your progress
You must schedule a mid-internship site visit with your Faculty Advisor and Worksite Supervisor
Submit all required paperwork and assignments by semester deadlines to the Career Center

Who is involved in the student internship program?

Student Intern: Learner
Worksite Supervisor: Site supervisor and mentor
Faculty Advisor: Professor
Instructor of Record & Work Experience Coordinator (Career Center): Administrators

How do we calculate credits?

You receive 1 credit for 54 hours of either an unpaid or paid internship
You may earn up to 4 credits per semester
You may earn up to 16 credits total
Internships are graded and count towards your degree, certificate, or award
Internships count as elective credits for CSU institutions and are not transferable to UC institutions

What are the eligibility requirements to participate?

You must declare a major or internship discipline at Moorpark College
You must be in good academic standing by having a GPA of 2.0 or above
You must enroll and have taken or are currently taking at least one course in the major or career field of your choice at Moorpark College
