Need feedback on your paper? The Writing Center's Paper Review Service is now available through Pisces!
To submit a paper, click the NetTutor icon in your Canvas course. While you will access the service through NetTutor, all paper reviews are completed by Moorpark College Writing Center tutors, not NetTutor staff.
Before You Submit
- Submit one essay per request.
- Upload your paper in PDF or MS Word Format
- Answer the basic questions about the assignment/paper
What to Expect
Writing Center tutors will provide brief comments and guiding questions to help you strengthen your writing, identify areas for revision, and better understand your grammatical needs. Feedback is designed to support your own editing and revision process rather than provide direct editing of the paper.
Please allow 24-48 hours for a response, Monday through Friday. Requests submitted on weekends will be reviewed during the following workweek. You will receive an email confirming the paper editing is complete, along with a personalized link for you to access/download it.
Important: The NetTutor icon in Canvas is currently the only way to access Pisces and submit a paper for review. If you do not see the NetTutor icon in your course navigation menu, please contact your instructor.
We look forward to supporting your writing success!

Tutoring Sessions – FAQ’s
How many appointments can I schedule?
You may book one appointment per day and up to three appointments per week.
Do I need to have a complete draft to get feedback?
Not at all. You can still receive support during the brainstorming or planning stage.
Do I need an appointment for an in-person session?
No! All in-person sessions are available upon walk-in at LL floor 3.
Can my tutor read multiple essays in one session? My paper is X pages long. Will the tutor review the entire thing?
Not necessarily. The focus of each session is to support your growth as a writer, which often means working through ideas and strategies—not just reading through entire drafts. A 45-minute session may cover anything from a few words to a few pages. For longer or multiple papers, we recommend scheduling multiple sessions to work through your writing in manageable sections.
I need to change or cancel my online appointment, but I can’t find the option. What should I do?
Please contact Online Writing Center Coordinator Tess Gebers at tgebers@vcccd.edu regarding any questions regarding your online appointment.
